Privacy Policy

Scope — Android app and website. This Privacy Policy applies to SmartEase Life on Android (Google Play release and Beta APK), desktop web, and mobile web. It explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices.

1. Data We Collect

• Account data: username, account email, password hash if you set a SmartEase password, optional profile picture, timezone.
• Optional Google sign-in: when enabled and you choose Google sign-in or linking, we verify a short-lived Google identity token and retain the Google subject identifier, Google email and verification status, linking time, and last-use time. Your account email remains separate. We do not store the raw Google token or receive your Google password.
• App content: scripts, video records, date events, and app settings you create or save.
• Device and usage data: device type, OS version, app version, IP address, and limited error/crash logs.
• Push token (release only): FCM token used for reminders and important app notices. Beta APK does not use push notifications.
• Optional location: if you allow location for Weather, we use it to find the nearest supported city. We do not permanently store raw device coordinates.
• Data stored on your device: local preferences, session data, and cache used to run and improve app performance.

2. How We Use Data

• Provide and maintain app features.
• Authenticate users and protect account security.
• Send reminders and service notices (release version only for push).
• Fix issues and improve reliability.
• Apply your saved preferences and settings.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal data.

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): used in release version for push notifications. We share push tokens only. Privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Sign in with Google: Google processes the sign-in interaction when you choose this method. SmartEase requests identity information only, not Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files, or password-manager access. Google's processing is described in its Privacy Policy.
• Open-Meteo: used for weather requests with selected city data.
• We may disclose data when required by law.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account and app content are kept while your account is active, unless you delete content earlier.
• When you request account deletion, a 7-day grace period starts and can be canceled before deadline.
• After deadline, account and primary app content are removed from active systems in our normal deletion process.
• A Google link is retained until you unlink it or your SmartEase account is deleted. Authentication challenges expire after five minutes and are consumed once; expired records are removed during subsequent authentication requests. Security audit records exclude raw passwords and identity tokens.
• Security logs may be retained for up to 90 days, or longer if required by law.

5. Your Controls

• You can update profile information in User Profile.
• Under User Profile → Login methods, you can review a Google link, request an account-email link to set a SmartEase password, and unlink Google after verifying that password. Unlinking removes only the SmartEase association and revokes other SmartEase sessions; it does not delete your Google account, SmartEase content, or password-manager records.
• You can disable notifications in Android settings.
• You can revoke location permission in Android settings (Weather feature may stop working).

5.1 Account Deletion (In App)

Go to Settings → User Profile → Delete Account, then confirm with your SmartEase password (or re-verify your linked Google identity if you have no SmartEase password) and DELETE. Google sign-in does not cancel an existing deletion request. Master accounts cannot use self-deletion.

5.2 Web Account Deletion Request

If you cannot sign in, email support@smarteaselife.com with your account email and username (if known), and request account deletion.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted network transmission and access controls.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the updated version on this page and revising the "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be notified in-app or by email.
